SA and DRC agree to work together in the transport sector

Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga and her DRC Counterpart, Marc Ekila Likombo have officiated the signing of agreements on Civil Aviation, Merchant Shipping and Maritime related matters, Land Transport Infrastructure, Exchange of Technical Expertise and Technology Transfer.

South Africa and the DRC have agreed to work together in the transport sector as part of the outcomes of the Bi- National Commission between the two countries that was held in Kinshasa DRC in June.

Through an interpreter, DRC Minister of Transport Marc Ekila Likombo says this partnership is key for both countries especially DRC as it seeks to modernise its transport sector.

“The wedding that is happening now is not a social physical wedding. It is a marriage of corporation. Technical corporation which is very important for both countries especially for the DRC.”
