Angola Maintains Commitment to Conserve Ecosystem Basins

The head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, said on Saturday in Brazzaville that Angola has increased responsibilities to reconcile the urgency of conserving the basins of ecosystems and biodiversity “which are of vital value to humanity”.

Speaking at the Summit of the Three Biodiversity and Tropical Forest Ecosystem Basins, on behalf of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the minister said that Angola has a large coastline and a vast forest area with wide biodiversity, from the Miombo forests to the Maiombe forest massif in the north.

He said, quoted in a press release from MIREX, that as a Member of the Basin Climate Commission (CCBC), Angola has actively participated by contributing to the development of various activities, where it assumes common positions, within the framework of the implementation of several international agreements.

In addition to the host President, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, the event was attended by the Heads of State Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Umaro Embaló, William Ruto, Carlos Vila Nova, and Évariste Ndayishimiye.
